How to help your pet with Rescue Remedy

Many people are familiar with Rescue Remedy and it’s often the first step to using remedies to help their pets. Here’s a tail – (see what I did there!) – to illustrate just how effective, simple and quick acting Rescue Remedy can be.

BUCKET AND HER NEW NEIGHBOUR.

This month, a new cat thought he’d make our garden his territory. As we know, cats are highly territorial and Bucket our cat, really did not take to this intruder. For some days, the two of them would sit, stare and yowl at each other for long periods each day till one of them very slowly backed off. Each cat working on the principle that it was better to walk away and fight another day. Bucket is by nature, a loving and playful cat, however over a period of days, Bucket became more and more agitated and aggressive. Any change to a cat’s environment, be that in the home or outside is very distressing, and this new cat had really upset Bucket. She was aggressive towards us, to the point where we couldn’t touch her, and we certainly wouldn’t be brave enough to move her off the settee if we wished to sit down! She wouldn’t even sit on our laps. Bucket was on “red alert” all the time, her little black face was hard, her eyes fierce and her body tense, even when asleep in her basket. I began to give her 4 drops of Rescue Remedy 4 times a day. Cats are very smart so I hid the drops in amongst her tuna, taking care not to let her see me.

Within a couple of days, her body and little face relaxed and we could stroke her without being scratched. She was also able to cope with her new neighbour albeit politely civil and she is now back to her old self. As we all like happy ending, here is a photo taken in our snug, on the 12th Feb 2011, with Bucket and our Pointer, Bran chilled out together in front of the fire! I’ve used Bach Flower Remedies for some years now on a range of animals and never cease to be blown away just how beneficial and effective the remedies are for our pets. For emergency situations, Rescue Remedy is so simple to use. Never under estimate how effective just 4 drops can be. It doesn’t have to be an emergency situation, if you have no other remedies to hand, Rescue Remedy can be the first response to tackling a problem before it becomes a real issue.
