BACKGROUND Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit
my site. Throughout my life, I have been interested in, and
used, complementary therapies as a layperson, including Bach Flower
Remedies, to help my own wellbeing. At the beginning of 2000 my own
health challenges and major surgery enabled me to experience first
hand the supporting and restorative benefits that Bach Flower
Remedies and Reiki provide. An excellent surgeon and the therapies
both played their part in my recovery back to full health and
strength. This life experience gave me the strong desire to bring
these simple, yet powerful complementary therapies to others on
their own journey, towards achieving better health and happiness
through the use of natural and non-invasive methods. In the words of
Dr Bach “Every one of us also has sympathy with those in distress,
and naturally so, because we have all been in distress ourselves at
some time in our lives. So that not only can we heal ourselves, but
we have the great privilege of being able to help others to heal
themselves”. I went on to qualify as a
Bach Foundation Registered Practitioner at The Bach Centre, Mount
Vernon, Oxfordshire, the home of Dr Bach. You can find me on the
International List of Registered Practitioners on the Bach Centre
website
www.bachcentre.com.
I work to a strict code of practice and follow the true philosophy
of Dr Edward Bach, that is, the simplicity of his self help system,
which makes it possible for everyone to use it to heal themselves
and the people around them. This means, as a Registered
Practitioner, my role is also one of facilitator, to educate people
in the use of the remedies and to guide them towards greater
personal involvement in achieving and maintaining good health.
Taking this role a step further, I passed The Bach Foundation
Teachers Programme Stage 1 and went on to set up a topical series of
Bach Flower Remedy Workshops. The workshops run throughout the year,
and you can find more information dates on the Workshop Page. To
continue my professional development, I attend the Bach Centre
regularly to meet up with Stefan Ball and Judy Howard, who are the
Trustees of the Bach Centre and other Registered Practitioners, my
colleagues from around the world. During this time I qualified as a Reiki Master
Practitioner in the Usui tradition. By using the gentle natural
healing of Bach Flower Remedies and the energy balancing practice of
Reiki, I can help you find the harmony needed to progress and be
healthy.
Since gaining my first professional qualification,
I talk to the students at the Isle of Man College at various times
of the year, providing information about how Bach Flower Remedies
can provide support during their time at College. As part of my work
in health promotion, I also attend corporate wellbeing days, and
have stands at regular health events around the Island providing
advice on maintaining emotional health and wellbeing. Continuing professional development is always
ongoing and I have continued to add further qualifications to my
list, qualifying as a Hopi Ear Candle Therapist in 2007, thus
enhancing the holistic services offered at practice in
Ramsey. My website will be updated regularly with
therapy development.
MY PHILOSOPHY I am a firm believer in the holistic principle,
that is, to treat the person, not the disease. As a Bach Foundation
Registered Practitioner my aim is to support each individual by
encouraging them to take responsibility for their own health and to
make decisions about their own healthcare. I find that it empowers
people to be approached this way, each with their own personal
responses to their situation and each with their own priorities in
life. I can offer a person information and assistance with regards
to their own wellbeing, but the greatest results will always be
achieved if that person is motivated to take an active role. People
who adopt this attitude are then capable of taking huge steps
towards achieving mental, physical and emotional health. I work to a modern approach. I offer friendly,
non-judgemental, supportive consultations in a confidential, safe
environment. The therapies I practice are complementary. This means
that when they are introduced into a person’s healthcare regime,
they act in great support with any traditional healthcare that may
be ongoing. There may be times however, when traditional medicine is
unable to offer a solution and complementary therapies can be very
helpful in these cases. For example, for people who suffer from
repeated tension headaches or stress. Increasingly we are seeking
ways of healing which are safe and natural. Personal experience and
positive feedback from clients confirms that Bach Flower Remedies
and the therapies I offer can make a difference to people’s, and
animals lives, and I, in turn, find it thoroughly rewarding and
enjoy being able to deliver them.
